It steadily increases your bodies tolerance to a more acidic environment and helps you regulate your breathing.

30 Second Breath Holds
Swim 1 Lap. Rest.
45 Second Breath Holds
Swim 2 Laps. Rest.
1 Minute Breath Holds
In a 25 yard/m pool, swim underwater one side to another with one breath
Attempt only if able.
